Floor Plan

A floor plan is a technical drawing to scale, showing a view from above, of the relationships between rooms, spaces, traffic patterns, and other physical features at one level of a structure. Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths. Floor plans may also include details of fixtures.

What is a floor plan?

A floor plan is a scaled diagram of a room or building viewed from above. The floor plan will usually show each floor of an entire property, however it can be done to only show one floor, or a single room. It can also include measurements, furniture, appliances, or anything else necessary to the purpose of the plan.

Why is a floor plan important?

They provide a way to visualise how people will move through the space. Floor plans makes it easier to check if the space is suitable for its intended purpose

Why do I need a floor plan?

New Rightmove research suggests that floor plans are one of the most important aspects of property presentation to buyers. Over a third of buyers said that they were less likely to enquire about a property without a floor plan. This is probably one of the reasons that 1 in 5 buyers would ignore a property listing completely, if a property was without a floor plan.
